Terms of Service


Effective Date: February 10, 2026


Welcome to Triads.app ("Service", "App", "we", "us", "our"), a web-based guitar training tool operated by Karlis Krauklis ("Operator").


By accessing or using Triads.app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you may not access the Service.



1. Description of Service


Triads.app is an educational web application designed to help guitarists learn and practice triad chord shapes across the fretboard. The Service includes:

  • Interactive fretboard visualization
  • Practice modes (In Scale Mode, Triad Mode)
  • Metronome and audio playback features
  • Real guitar audio samples

    • The Service is provided for educational and personal practice purposes only.



    2. Eligibility


    By using this Service, you represent and warrant that:

  • You are at least 16 years of age, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction
  • You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
  • You are not prohibited from using the Service under applicable laws

    • If you are under 16, you may only use the Service with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.



    3. User Accounts


    3.1 Registration

    Some features require account registration. When creating an account, you must:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your password and account
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use

    • 3.2 Account Restrictions

  • One account per person
  • Accounts are non-transferable
  • We reserve the right to refuse registration or cancel accounts at our discretion


    • 4. Plans and Payments


    4.1 Free Tier

    The free tier provides limited access to the Service (key of C only). No payment is required.


    4.2 Paid Plans

    Paid plans ("Pro") unlock all features including all 12 keys, all string sets, all chord qualities, and future premium features. Current pricing is displayed on our pricing page.


    4.3 Payment Processing

  • All payments are processed securely through Stripe, Inc.
  • We do not store your complete credit card information
  • Prices are displayed in USD and include applicable taxes where required
  • You authorize us to charge your payment method for the selected plan

    • 4.4 Lifetime Plans

  • Lifetime plans provide permanent access to all Pro features
  • "Lifetime" means the operational life of Triads.app, not the purchaser's lifetime
  • If we discontinue the Service, lifetime plan holders will receive at least 12 months notice

    • 4.5 Subscriptions

  • If and when monthly or yearly subscription plans are offered, they will renew automatically until cancelled
  • You may cancel at any time through your account settings
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
  • No prorated refunds for partial billing periods

    • 4.6 Refund Policy

  • **7-day money-back guarantee** on all paid plans
  • Contact hello@triads.app within 7 days of purchase for a full refund
  • Refunds are processed within 5-10 business days
  • Abuse of the refund policy may result in account restrictions

    • 4.7 Price Changes

    We reserve the right to modify pricing at any time. Changes will not affect existing purchases. For subscription plans, we will provide at least 30 days notice of price increases.



    5. Acceptable Use


    5.1 You MAY:

  • Use the Service for personal guitar practice and education
  • Access features included in your plan (free or paid)
  • Share your experiences and progress publicly (e.g., social media)

    • 5.2 You MAY NOT:

  • Share, sell, resell, or transfer your account access
  • Use the Service for commercial purposes without written permission
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
  • Attempt to bypass payment systems or access restrictions
  • Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
  • Use the Service to transmit malware or malicious code
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Create multiple accounts to abuse free tier limits

    • Violation of these terms may result in immediate account termination without refund.



    6. Intellectual Property


    6.1 Our Content

    All content on Triads.app — including but not limited to software, code, design, graphics, audio samples, text, fretboard visualizations, and user interface — is owned by the Operator or licensed to us. This content is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.


    6.2 Limited License

    We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.


    6.3 Restrictions

    You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our Service or included content. You may not reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code.



    7. User Data and Privacy


    Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand our data practices.



    8. Third-Party Services


    The Service integrates with third-party services (e.g., Stripe for payments, Google for authentication). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.



    9. Service Availability


    9.1 Availability

    We strive to maintain high uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:

  • Scheduled maintenance (we'll try to notify in advance)
  • Unscheduled emergency maintenance
  • Factors beyond our control (internet outages, natural disasters, etc.)

    • 9.2 Modifications

    We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We will provide reasonable notice for significant changes affecting paid features.



    10. Disclaimers


    10.1 "As Is" Basis

    THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Implied warranties of merchantability
  • Fitness for a particular purpose
  • Non-infringement
  • Accuracy or completeness of content

    • 10.2 No Guarantees

    We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will meet your specific requirements
  • The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
  • Results obtained from the Service will be accurate or reliable
  • Any errors in the Service will be corrected

    • 10.3 Educational Disclaimer

    Triads.app is an educational tool. It is not a substitute for professional music instruction. We make no claims about specific learning outcomes.



    11. Limitation of Liability


    11.1 Exclusion of Damages

    TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE OPERATOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
  • Personal injury or property damage
  • Any damages arising from your use or inability to use the Service

    • 11.2 Cap on Liability

    IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE EXCEED THE GREATER OF:

  • The amounts you paid to us in the twelve (12) months prior to the claim, OR
  • Fifty Euros (€50)

    • 11.3 Jurisdictional Limitations

    Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability. In such jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.



    12. Indemnification


    You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Operator from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights


    • 13. Termination


    13.1 By You

    You may stop using the Service at any time. To close your account, contact hello@triads.app.


    13.2 By Us

    We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including:

  • Breach of these Terms
  • Fraudulent or illegal activity
  • Non-payment
  • Extended inactivity (12+ months)

    • 13.3 Effect of Termination

    Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the Service ceases immediately
  • We may delete your account data (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Provisions that by their nature should survive will survive (including Sections 6, 10, 11, 12, 14)


    • 14. Governing Law and Disputes


    14.1 Governing Law

    These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Spain, without regard to conflict of law principles.


    14.2 Jurisdiction

    Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain.


    14.3 Informal Resolution

    Before filing any claim, you agree to attempt to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us at hello@triads.app. We will attempt to resolve the dispute within 30 days.


    14.4 EU Dispute Resolution

    If you are a consumer in the European Union, you may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/



    15. General Provisions


    15.1 Entire Agreement

    These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.


    15.2 Severability

    If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.


    15.3 Waiver

    Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights.


    15.4 Assignment

    You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.


    15.5 Force Majeure

    We shall not be liable for any failure to perform due to causes beyond our reasonable control.



    16. Changes to These Terms


    We may revise these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to the Service. For material changes, we will provide notice via email to registered users or prominent notice on the Service.


    Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
